About Us
Raptor Games started the same way a lot of great trading card stories do.
A couple of mates hanging out, opening packs, talking nonsense over cardboard, and spending way too much time debating trades that absolutely should have happened.
Like a lot of people in the hobby, we grew up loving trading cards. Pokémon, Magic, Yu-Gi-Oh!, collecting binders, chasing pulls, building decks we thought were unbeatable, and spending hours at local game stores just because we enjoyed being there.
Over time, we realised the best part of the hobby was never just the cards themselves.
It was the experience around them.
The excitement of opening packs with friends.
The trade binder conversations.
The local events.
The communities.
The ridiculous top decks.
The stories people still talk about years later.
The feeling of walking into a store and actually wanting to stay there.
That is what led to Raptor Games.
We wanted to build the kind of store we would have loved as customers ourselves.
Not just somewhere to buy cards, but somewhere people genuinely enjoy spending time.
A place where:
- beginners feel welcome
- collectors can nerd out over artwork and binders
- competitive players can test decks
- parents feel comfortable bringing their kids
- mates can hang out for hours
- and someone always says “just one more pack” before opening six more
We support a wide range of trading card games including:
- Pokémon
- Magic: The Gathering
- One Piece Card Game
- Star Wars Unlimited
- Gundam Card Game
- Yu-Gi-Oh!
But more importantly, we support the communities around those games.
One thing we are especially proud of is the team we have built around those values.
From day one, we wanted Raptor Games to feel welcoming, approachable, and community focused. That only works when the people behind the counter genuinely care about the experience customers are having.
Our staff are collectors, players, hobbyists, and community members themselves. They understand the excitement of pulling a chase card, the frustration of losing a close game, and how intimidating trading card games can feel when you are brand new.
That shared passion helps create the environment people experience when they walk into the store.
We have worked hard to build a team that reflects what we believe a good local game store should be:
- friendly
- patient
- inclusive
- knowledgeable
- approachable
- passionate about the hobby
Whether someone is buying their very first starter deck or discussing competitive deck lists for hours, we want everyone to feel comfortable walking through the doors.
Over the years we have seen complete beginners become regular players, customers become close friends, parents get into collecting because of their kids, and casual collectors turn into serious hobby enthusiasts after pulling “just one good card”.
That community side of the hobby is something we genuinely care about.
We also know trading card games can sometimes feel intimidating when you are new. Expensive cards, complicated rules, hype online, and people speaking in acronyms like everyone magically understands them.
We try very hard to make Raptor Games approachable.
You do not need to know every rule.
You do not need a max rarity deck.
You do not need to spend thousands of dollars.
You do not need to “fit in”.
If you enjoy the hobby, you belong here.
At the end of the day, Raptor Games was built by people who genuinely love trading card games and the communities around them.
We are collectors.
We are players.
We are customers ourselves.
And honestly, we still get just as excited pulling a big card now as we did years ago.
